Beautification Projects

The members of the Elko Downtown Business Association are actively involved in the future of the Elko Community and support continued communication and collaboration with the City of Elko and other parties. The DBA has continued to be a resource for information and advocate for downtown businesses regarding the proposed Downtown Redevelopment District. The DBA works to ensure that the new design truly reflects a progressive and prosperous future for the Elko community and the Downtown.

 Elko Mural Expo
On Sept. 26 – 29, 2019, 43 artists and 32 students painted 61 walls during the DBA hosted Elko Mural Expo.  With a goal to revitalize the downtown corridor,  The goal of the event was to brighten the downtown corridor, by curating a diverse array of outdoor murals, creating a walkable, outdoor gallery.
Visiting national and international artists added some extra flair to the event and, more importantly, went back to their communities with stories of the Old West in our hometown Elko, NV. More than 20 murals were added during Sept. 26-29, 2019 of the Expo, primarily by local artists. More than 100 people of all ages, participated in the Alley Art and Recycle/Refurbish projects.
Above all else, these painted walls are a source of community pride and will be another addition to Elko, being an arts destination worth stopping for. This project continues the downtown revitalization by replacing blighted areas with beautiful artwork.

Elko DBA is ALWAYS looking for opportunities to invest in the beauty and well being of the downtown.
