Downtown businesses financially reinvest twice as much back into the local economy as do chains. Locally owned businesses Compared to chain stores, locally owned businesses recycle a much larger share of their revenue back into the local economy, enriching the whole community.

Downtown contributes to a strong community by linking neighbors in a web of economic, cultural and social relationships. In an increasingly homogenized world, communities that preserve and support their downtown’s distinctive character have a long-term economic advantage.

DBA Bucks Are Green

Downtown is a sustainable, compact, walkable commercial neighborhood. Choosing to do business downtown reduces unnecessary automobile use, habitat loss from sprawl, and pollution.
DBA Bucks are valid and redeemable for goods and services at participating merchants for stated value. Merchant participation and product availability subject to change at any time. DBA Bucks cannot be redeemed for cash or used to purchase other gift certificates. DBA Bucks cannot be replaced if lost or stolen. DBA Bucks cannot be used or redeemed towards previous purchases. Merchant may give store credit for remainder of any purchase less than the value of the DBA Bucks being used. All sales subject to terms of participating merchant.
 
Here’s how your business can participate:
  • Accept DBA Bucks at your business. All DBA Bucks used at your store will be redeemable through the Downtown Business Association at 100% of face value. By signing up as a participating merchant, you will be included in the promotional materials surrounding the program, and shoppers will be encouraged to spend at your business. Each participating store will be given a small display sign indicating their participation.

DBA Bucks are administered by the Elko Downtown Business Association.
